The Defense group supports the Department of Defense (DoD) mission to keep our homeland and its citizens safe. We provide solutions to improve the Nation's defense by providing software, systems engineering, IT, training and logistics and fleet management solutions.
Manages team that provides technical assistance to computer system and network users. May also have oversight for a data center. Provides 24/7 technical support for computers and associated networks. Manages a team of support personnel who troubleshoot IT issues. Implements policies and procedures regarding how problems are identified, received, documented, distributed, and corrected. Ensures maximum issue resolution in minimum time to meet Service Level Agreements. Evaluates new information systems products or services and suggests changes to existing products or services to better aide the end user. Coordinates the preparation of bid specifications for required purchases (e.g. computers, software, (email, firewall, backup) and a variety of parts, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining availability of required items. Directs, establishes, plans and implements the policies and procedures to support the organization's technical support services. Manages the deployment, maintenance, support and upgrade of servers, desktop PCs, hardware, software, operating systems and distributed printers. Monitors technology trends such as emerging standards for new technology opportunities.
Requires BA/BS with 10 years of experience with at least 4 years of management level responsibility. Incumbent has specialized knowledge in at least one area of expertise and a general knowledge in 1-2 other areas.
